Decoupage Box

For the Decoupage Box we need
  1. wooden box
  2. chalk paints
  3. white paint
  4. decoupage tissue
  5. decoupage glue
  6. decoupage varnish
  7. flat brush
  8. sponge
  9. stencil
lets get started

first take the box , sponge and white paint, we will colour the box white, dab the sponge on the whole box in white colour. let the colour dry.

In the meanwhile when the colour is getting dry take the decoupage tissue and cut it according to the size of the  box. You can stick the paper on the top of the box and also on the sides of the box its your choice.

So now we are ready with the box and the decoupage paper.

Next step would be to take the glue and a brush, take the measurement of the box and the tissue and apply single coat of the glue on the box and then the tissue, when you place the tissue make sure that there are no crease on the tissue if there are any take a wet sponge and dab it on the tissue make sure that the sponge is clean.

Once you have put the tissue on the top of the box, do the same steps and stick the tissue on the sides of the box too. If you donot want to put a tissue on the sides than i will explain you an alternative for the same in the next step.

Now we will take a clean brush and varnish and apply a thin coat of varnish on the tissue. And let it dry.

In the next step we need one chalk paint, please choose a colour which suits with the colour of your tissue.
take a sponge and the chalk paint which you have chosen in a plate and dip the sponge in the paint and dab it again on a plain sheet and then start colouring on all the empty spaces make sure there is no white colour visible.

If you have not stick the tissue on the sides then take a stencil in any design you like. Take a darker shade of colour then you applied on the base. Place the stencil on the sides and dab the colour with a sponge make sure you remove the extra colour and than dab the sponge. Let the colour dry.

When the colour is dry. Put one coat of varnish on the whole box.

And Finally your box will be ready.

Ps: i have used chalk paints because they have a creamy texture and are non sticky.
